Phenethyl Alcohol
Phenethyl alcohol is a FEMA GRAS flavoring substance and a permitted EU food flavoring (FL 02.005). EFSA evaluated it as safe at current levels of use as a flavoring.
What it is
2-phenylethanol; an aromatic alcohol naturally present in rose oil and many flowers, also produced synthetically.
Permitted flavoring substance and fragrance; mild preservative in cosmetics.
