Natural flavoring of aromatic plants is a generic term for flavorings derived from culinary aromatic plants such as basil, thyme, rosemary, oregano, etc.
Flavoring agent; provides characteristic herbal/aromatic notes to foods and beverages.

"The term natural flavor or natural flavoring means the essential oil, oleoresin, essence or extractive... derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice, vegetable or vegetable juice, edible yeast, herb, bark, bud, root, leaf or similar plant material..."

Permitted under generic 'natural flavors' definition in 21 CFR 101.22(a)(3); specific plants must be GRAS.
European Union — EFSA
Permitted under EU flavoring regulation 1334/2008; natural flavoring substances must comply with general criteria.
