What it is

Laureth-9 is the polyethylene glycol ether of lauryl (dodecyl) alcohol with an average of 9 ethylene oxide units (PEG-9 lauryl ether); a non-ionic surfactant used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. It is not nonoxynol-9, which is a distinct nonylphenol-ethoxylate spermicide.

Not used in food. Cosmetic surfactant and emulsifier.
