Illipe Oil

Illipe is permitted as one of six vegetable fats other than cocoa butter that may be added to chocolate up to 5% under EU Directive 2000/36/EC. As a fat, it is calorically dense and high in saturated fatty acids.
What it is
Illipe oil/butter is a fat obtained from the seeds of Shorea stenoptera; used primarily in cosmetics and as a cocoa butter equivalent.
