Hop Extract
Hops have a long history of food use and are GRAS as a flavoring. Hop extracts contain bitter acids (humulones, lupulones) with antimicrobial and mild sedative effects.
What it is
Concentrated extract of hop cones (Humulus lupulus), often produced via CO2 or solvent extraction, containing alpha and beta acids and essential oils.
Flavor/bittering ingredient in beer; some food/supplement uses.
