Glyceryl monocaprylate is a fatty acid monoglyceride. Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids (E471) are widely used food emulsifiers and considered safe.

A monoester of glycerin and caprylic acid (C8 fatty acid); used as an emulsifier and antimicrobial.
Emulsifier and skin-conditioning agent; primarily used in cosmetics. Limited direct food use.
