What it is
Aluminum lake form of Brilliant Blue FCF (FD&C Blue No. 1), a synthetic blue color additive prepared by extending the dye on aluminum hydroxide substrate.
Color additive; produces blue and (combined with yellows) green hues in foods, especially in fat-based or low-moisture products where water-soluble dyes are unsuitable.
