Faiselle
Faisselle is a fresh whole-food dairy cheese. Traditional unpasteurized versions carry a small Listeria/pathogen risk and are not recommended for pregnant or immunocompromised people; pasteurized versions are widely safe.
What it is
A traditional French fresh cheese (faisselle), an unaged curdled-milk cheese drained in a perforated mold.
Eaten as a fresh dessert cheese; ingredient in savory and sweet dishes.
Why it's flagged
- raw-milk Listeria risk (unpasteurized)
- milk allergen
- lactose
