Propane
Also known as: E944
Propane (E944) is authorised as a propellant in food under EU Regulation 1333/2008 Annex II/III at quantum satis and is GRAS as a propellant in food packaging in the US (21 CFR 184.1655). Toxicologically inert at trace residual levels; primary hazards are flammability and asphyxiation in non-food settings.

Propane (C3H8), a saturated hydrocarbon used as an aerosol propellant.
Propellant for spray oils, whipped products, and aerosol food sprays.
