Dimethyl Polysiloxane
Also known as: E900a, Polydimethyl siloxane, Silicone fluid, Silicone oil, Polydimethylsiloxane
Dimethylpolysiloxane is approved by the FDA at 21 CFR 173.340 as an anti-foaming agent (limited to 10 ppm in food) and authorized in the EU as E900 with an ADI of 1.5 mg/kg bw/day. It is essentially non-absorbed from the GI tract; safety concerns at use levels are minimal.
