Sucroglycerides
Also known as: E474, Sucroglyceride
Sucroglycerides share a group ADI of 40 mg/kg bw/day with sucrose esters of fatty acids (E473) per EFSA. Not approved for general food use in the US (no GRAS or 21 CFR listing for sucroglycerides as such).
What it is
Sucroglycerides (E474) — emulsifiers produced by reaction of sucrose with edible fats/oils, yielding a mixture of mono/di/tri-glycerides and sucrose esters.
Emulsifier in baked goods, beverage whiteners, dairy desserts, and confectionery.
Why it's flagged
- EFSA exposure assessments noted ADI exceedance in some population groups
What regulators actually say

"The estimates of exposure to sucrose esters of fatty acids (E 473) exceeded the group ADI of 40 mg/kg bw per day for many population groups."
Regulatory status
United States — FDA
Not generally listed as a permitted food additive in 21 CFR.
