Triphosphates are part of the phosphate additive family that EFSA reassessed in 2019, setting a group ADI of 40 mg/kg bw/day as phosphorus, with concerns that exposure may exceed the ADI in some consumer groups (notably children). Considered safe at GMP levels but cumulative dietary phosphate intake is the concern.
