What it is
Sorbitol, a sugar alcohol (polyol) derived from glucose, occurring naturally in some fruits and produced industrially by hydrogenation of glucose.
Serves as a bulk sweetener, humectant, and texturizer; about 60% as sweet as sucrose with fewer calories.
