Reviewed by the CIR Expert Panel as part of the amino acid alkyl amides safety assessment, which concluded these ingredients (including lauroyl glutamate salts) are safe in current cosmetic use when formulated to be non-irritating. Studies show low irritation, and the ingredient is non-sensitizing, non-genotoxic, and non-phototoxic.
