Copernicia Cerifera Wax
Carnauba wax is FDA GRAS and re-evaluated by EFSA in 2012 with sufficient margin of safety at authorized uses. It is practically not absorbed in the human GI tract.
What it is
Carnauba wax (E903), a hard plant wax obtained from the leaves of the Brazilian palm Copernicia cerifera.
Glazing agent and surface coating; provides shine and prevents moisture loss on confectionery, fruits, and supplements.
