Grapefruit is a wholesome citrus providing vitamin C, fiber, and flavonoids (naringin). Important caveat: grapefruit and grapefruit juice inhibit cytochrome P450 3A4 and OATP transporters, causing significant interactions with many medications (statins, calcium channel blockers, certain immunosuppressants, etc.).

Grapefruit (Citrus × paradisi), a citrus fruit that is a hybrid of Citrus maxima (pomelo) and Citrus sinensis (sweet orange).
