Sweet orange flower extract is GRAS as a flavoring under 21 CFR 182.20 (orange) and on the EU flavoring list. Distinct from bitter orange (Citrus aurantium amara) which contains synephrine and has stimulant safety concerns; sweet orange flower is generally well-tolerated at flavoring levels.
