Carob Bean

Carob bean is a standard plant food. Locust bean gum derived from the seeds has been re-evaluated by EFSA and is considered safe at typical use levels.
What it is
Pods or seeds of Ceratonia siliqua; the whole bean is used roasted/ground (carob powder) and the seeds yield locust bean gum (E410).
Source of carob powder (cocoa-like flavor) and locust bean gum (thickener and stabilizer).
