Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
Caprylic and capric fatty acids are FDA GRAS for direct food use, and MCTs have a long history of safe use including FDA-cleared GRAS notices for medium-chain triacylglycerols. Excess intake can cause GI upset.
What it is
Medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil composed primarily of C8 (caprylic) and C10 (capric) fatty acids esterified to glycerol; derived from coconut or palm kernel oil.
Fat source; carrier for flavors and supplements; energy source in clinical/sports nutrition.

- GI symptoms at high single doses (>20-30 g)
