Camelina oil received a GRAS no-objection letter from FDA via GRN 642 (CamStar, LLC) in 2016. Use levels of up to 3.0 g per serving across multiple food categories were considered safe.
What it is
Camelina oil is a partially refined edible oil pressed from the seeds of Camelina sativa, rich in alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3) and oleic/linoleic acids.
Edible cooking/finishing oil; source of dietary omega-3 fatty acids.

- small erucic acid content (under 2% per food-grade specifications)
