Blood Orange
Blood oranges are a whole fruit recognized as a healthful dietary component. They are rich in vitamin C and provide anthocyanins that have shown antioxidant activity in clinical studies.
What it is
Pigmented variety of Citrus sinensis (e.g., Moro, Tarocco, Sanguinello) whose flesh contains anthocyanins (chrysanthemin) in addition to typical orange carotenoids.
Whole fruit / juice; provides vitamin C, folate, anthocyanin antioxidants.
