Bifidobacterium species are widely used as probiotic cultures in dairy and supplements and are generally considered safe for healthy populations. EFSA has assessed several Bifidobacterium species under the QPS (Qualified Presumption of Safety) framework.
What it is
Live bacteria of the genus Bifidobacterium, commonly added as a probiotic culture to fermented dairy and supplements.
