Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Powder
Aloe vera whole-leaf preparations contain anthraquinone glycosides such as aloin, which IARC classifies as possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group 2B) and which have a laxative effect. The EU prohibits aloe-derived hydroxyanthracene derivatives in food (Regulation 2021/468), and FDA removed aloe from OTC laxatives.
