Yellow Corn Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 2 cups yellow corn meal
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
Method
- 1 Sift together the flour, corn meal, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- 2 Beat the egg yolks, add the milk, and stir into the dry ingredients.
- 3 Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold them into the batter.
- 4 Stir in the melted butter.
- 5 Pour into greased pans and bake for 20 to 30 minutes.
