  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 cups yellow corn meal
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Method

  1. 1 Sift together the flour, corn meal, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  2. 2 Beat the egg yolks, add the milk, and stir into the dry ingredients.
  3. 3 Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold them into the batter.
  4. 4 Stir in the melted butter.
