Yeast Raised Pancakes With Baking Soda
Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cake compressed yeast
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- flour as needed
Method
- 1 Scald the milk and cool it, then dissolve the yeast in it along with the salt and sugar.
- 2 Add enough sifted flour to make a smooth, thin batter. Cover and let stand overnight in a warm place.
- 3 In the morning, add the melted butter, baking soda dissolved in a little warm water, and beaten eggs.
- 4 Cover and let stand for half an hour in a warm place.
- 5 Bake like other griddle cakes and serve immediately.
