Yeast Raised Pancakes With Baking Soda

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cake compressed yeast
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • flour as needed

Method

  1. 1 Scald the milk and cool it, then dissolve the yeast in it along with the salt and sugar.
  2. 2 Add enough sifted flour to make a smooth, thin batter. Cover and let stand overnight in a warm place.
  3. 3 In the morning, add the melted butter, baking soda dissolved in a little warm water, and beaten eggs.
  4. 4 Cover and let stand for half an hour in a warm place.
  5. 5 Bake like other griddle cakes and serve immediately.
