Yeast Raised Griddle Cakes
Ingredients
- 1 quart milk
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- Flour (enough to make a thin batter)
- 2 tbsp yeast
Method
- 1 Warm the milk and stir in the butter and salt until melted.
- 2 Add the beaten eggs to the warm milk mixture.
- 3 Stir in flour until the mixture forms a thin batter.
- 4 Add the yeast and beat everything well together.
- 5 Let the batter rise for five hours.
- 6 Pour batter onto a hot griddle to form cakes the size of a breakfast plate.
- 7 Serve immediately without buttering them first.
