Wholemeal Bread And Egg Souffle
Ingredients
- 5 oz Allinson wholemeal bread
- 1 pint milk
- 2 tbsp orange or rosewater
- sugar to taste
- 4 eggs
Method
- 1 Soak the bread in the milk until perfectly soft.
- 2 Add sugar and the orange or rosewater to the bread mixture.
- 3 Beat the mixture with the egg yolks until combined.
- 4 Beat the egg whites to a stiff froth and lightly fold them into the bread mixture.
- 5 Pour the mixture into a well-buttered pie dish.
- 6 Bake in a brisk oven (400°F) for 30 minutes.
- 7 Serve immediately.
