Wholemeal Bread And Egg Souffle

Ingredients

  • 5 oz Allinson wholemeal bread
  • 1 pint milk
  • 2 tbsp orange or rosewater
  • sugar to taste
  • 4 eggs

Method

  1. 1 Soak the bread in the milk until perfectly soft.
  2. 2 Add sugar and the orange or rosewater to the bread mixture.
  3. 3 Beat the mixture with the egg yolks until combined.
  4. 4 Beat the egg whites to a stiff froth and lightly fold them into the bread mixture.
  5. 5 Pour the mixture into a well-buttered pie dish.
  6. 6 Bake in a brisk oven (400°F) for 30 minutes.
  7. 7 Serve immediately.
