Whole Wheat Raisin Drop Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons shortening
- 1 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons raisins
Method
- 1 Mix flour, salt, and baking powder. Sift through a coarse strainer if desired.
- 2 Add shortening and rub in very lightly.
- 3 Add milk and mix to a soft dough. Fold in raisins.
- 4 Drop by tablespoonfuls far apart onto a greased baking sheet or greased muffin tins.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for about 25 minutes.
