Whole Wheat Raisin Drop Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons raisins

Method

  1. 1 Mix flour, salt, and baking powder. Sift through a coarse strainer if desired.
  2. 2 Add shortening and rub in very lightly.
  3. 3 Add milk and mix to a soft dough. Fold in raisins.
  4. 4 Drop by tablespoonfuls far apart onto a greased baking sheet or greased muffin tins.
  5. 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for about 25 minutes.
