Whole Wheat Raisin Buttermilk Scones
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole-wheat flour
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup salt
- 4 tablespoons raisins
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- buttermilk
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine whole-wheat flour, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- 2 Mix in raisins. In a separate small bowl, combine melted butter and buttermilk.
- 3 Add liquid ingredients to the flour mixture and mix gently until just combined.
- 4 Spoon dough into 9 equal mounds on a greased baking sheet.
- 5 Bake for 18-20 minutes until well browned. Serve hot or at room temperature.
