Whole Wheat Maple Nut Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fat
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons maple flavoring
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup coarsely cut nuts

Method

  1. 1 Cream fat, corn syrup, and maple flavoring together.
  2. 2 Add beaten egg and mix well.
  3. 3 Sift dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, soda) together.
  4. 4 Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to the mixture.
  5. 5 Stir in vanilla and nuts.
  6. 6 Pour into a layer pan and bake for 20 minutes.
