Whole Wheat Maple Nut Cake
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fat
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 1/2 teaspoons maple flavoring
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup coarsely cut nuts
Method
- 1 Cream fat, corn syrup, and maple flavoring together.
- 2 Add beaten egg and mix well.
- 3 Sift dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, soda) together.
- 4 Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to the mixture.
- 5 Stir in vanilla and nuts.
- 6 Pour into a layer pan and bake for 20 minutes.
