Whole Wheat French Toast
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup large eggs
- 1/2 cup non-fat (skim) milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 slices whole wheat bread
- Syrup or other toppings (optional)
Method
- 1 Preheat a griddle over medium heat or set an electric frying pan to 375°F.
- 2 In a shallow bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
- 3 Grease the griddle or pan with oil or nonstick spray.
- 4 Dip bread slices in the egg mixture, coating both sides.
- 5 Cook on the hot griddle for about 4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- 6 Serve warm with syrup, applesauce, fruit slices, or jam if desired.
