Whole Wheat Candied Peel Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 8 oz whole wheat flour
  • 4 oz sugar
  • 4 oz Nutter (shortening)
  • 1 tsp chopped candied peel

Method

  1. 1 Melt the Nutter (shortening) in a saucepan or microwave.
  2. 2 Mix the flour, sugar, melted Nutter, and chopped peel with just enough water to form a stiff dough.
  3. 3 Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
  4. 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until lightly golden.
