Whole Wheat Candied Peel Biscuits
Ingredients
- 8 oz whole wheat flour
- 4 oz sugar
- 4 oz Nutter (shortening)
- 1 tsp chopped candied peel
Method
- 1 Melt the Nutter (shortening) in a saucepan or microwave.
- 2 Mix the flour, sugar, melted Nutter, and chopped peel with just enough water to form a stiff dough.
- 3 Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until lightly golden.
