Whole Baked Onions With Butter

Ingredients

  • Onions
  • 1/2 oz butter per large onion (or half for small ones)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Method

  1. 1 Peel onions and make a crosswise incision on the top of each.
  2. 2 Place onions in a baking dish and top each large onion with 1/2 oz butter (or half for small ones).
  3. 3 Season with salt and pepper.
  4. 4 Cover and bake for 2 hours, then uncover to brown for the final hour, basting occasionally with butter.
