Whole Baked Onions With Butter
Ingredients
- Onions
- 1/2 oz butter per large onion (or half for small ones)
- Salt
- Pepper
Method
- 1 Peel onions and make a crosswise incision on the top of each.
- 2 Place onions in a baking dish and top each large onion with 1/2 oz butter (or half for small ones).
- 3 Season with salt and pepper.
- 4 Cover and bake for 2 hours, then uncover to brown for the final hour, basting occasionally with butter.
