White Wine Trifle With Whipped Cream

Method
- 1 Line the bottom of a deep dish with slices of Savoy cake or Naples biscuits.
- 2 Moisten the cake layer with white wine.
- 3 Fill the dish nearly to the top with rich boiled custard.
- 4 Whip 1 pint of cream seasoned with white wine and sugar until it forms stiff peaks.
- 5 Lightly spoon the whipped cream over the custard, piling it high.
- 6 Decorate with thinly sliced preserves, ensuring they do not weigh down the cream.
