White Wine Melted Butter Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 oz butter
  • 2 tsp flour
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp cold water
  • 1/4 cup white wine (optional)
  • 1/2 nutmeg, grated (optional)

Method

  1. 1 Melt 4 oz butter in a saucepan over heat.
  2. 2 Stir in 2 tsp flour and 1 cup boiling water. Add salt.
  3. 3 Boil for a few minutes, then stir in 1 tsp cold water.
  4. 4 For pudding sauce, add 1/4 cup white wine and grated nutmeg.
