Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb white flour
  • 1/4 lb fine Allinson wheatmeal
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pint milk
  • pinch of salt
  • butter, oil, or vegetable butter for frying

Method

  1. 1 Whisk flour, wheatmeal, eggs, milk, and salt until smooth to form a thin batter.
  2. 2 Heat a frying pan with a walnut-sized piece of butter until boiling hot.
  3. 3 Pour in enough batter to make a thin pancake and fry until golden brown.
  4. 4 Flip and fry the other side until browned, then fold in half.
  5. 5 Transfer to a hot dish and keep warm in the oven while frying the rest.
