Warm Bacon And Cabbage Salad
Ingredients
- 1 cup finely cut bacon
- 3 cups shredded raw cabbage
- bacon fat (reserved from frying)
- vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- 1 Fry the finely cut bacon until crisp, then drain off the fat, reserving it.
- 2 Combine the crispy bacon with three times the quantity of shredded raw cabbage.
- 3 Make a dressing using the reserved hot bacon fat and vinegar, seasoning to taste.
- 4 Pour the hot dressing over the cabbage and set aside to cool.
