Walnut Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons melted Crisco
- 2 eggs
- 2 squares chocolate
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup chopped English walnut meats
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons boiling water
Method
- 1 Cream Crisco and sugar together, then add well-beaten eggs.
- 2 Stir in chocolate dissolved in boiling water, salt, flour, vanilla, and nuts.
- 3 Divide batter and spread thin into two greased square pans.
- 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 20 to 25 minutes.
- 5 Cut into strips and serve with ice cream.
