Vinegar Stewed Sprats With Allspice
Ingredients
- Sprats, washed and dried
- Peppercorns
- Allspice
- Salt
- Vinegar
- Bay leaf (optional)
Method
- 1 Layer the washed and dried sprats in a stew-pan.
- 2 Between each layer of fish, add three peppercorns, three allspice, and a few grains of salt. Add a bay leaf if desired.
- 3 Barely cover the fish with vinegar and stew over a slow fire for one hour. Do not let them boil.
