Vienna Hot Chocolate With Egg Whites
Ingredients
- 3 heaping tbsp grated chocolate
- 4 cups milk
- Sugar to taste
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
- 1 Mix grated chocolate with a small amount of cold water to form a smooth paste.
- 2 Pour the chocolate paste into a double boiler with the boiling milk and sugar.
- 3 Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 4 Beat egg whites to stiff peaks and stir them into the hot chocolate mixture.
- 5 Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- 6 Serve immediately while hot and frothy.
