Vanilla Swirled Brown Sugar Molasses Fudge

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 2 squares Baker's Premium No. 1 Chocolate, scraped fine
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Method

  1. 1 Melt 1/4 cup butter in a saucepan.
  2. 2 In a separate dish, mix 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup molasses, and 1/2 cup cream.
  3. 3 Add the sugar mixture to the butter and bring to a boil. Boil for 2.5 minutes, stirring rapidly.
  4. 4 Add 2 squares of scraped fine chocolate. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring rapidly at first, then more slowly toward the end.
  5. 5 Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla. Stir constantly until the mass thickens.
  6. 6 Pour into a buttered pan and set in a cool place to set.
