Vanilla Meringue Pie Topping
Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
Method
- 1 Beat 4 egg whites until stiff and dry.
- 2 Gradually beat in 1/3 cup powdered sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon vanilla.
- 3 Remove beater and gently fold in the remaining 1/3 cup powdered sugar.
- 4 Spread over pie filling, making peaks with a spoon or pastry bag.
- 5 Bake at 350°F for 12 minutes until golden.
