Vanilla Icing With Strawberry Or Lemon Variations

Ingredients

• 1/2 teaspoon butter
• 2 tablespoons hot milk
• 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 tablespoon strawberry juice (optional, for pink icing)
• 1 teaspoon egg yolk (optional, for yellow icing)
• 1 teaspoon orange rind (optional, for yellow icing)
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for yellow icing)

Method

1. 1 Melt butter in hot milk.
2. 2 Slowly add confectioners' sugar, stirring until the mixture reaches a spreadable consistency.
3. 3 Stir in vanilla extract and baking powder.
4. 4 Spread icing on top and sides of the cake.
5. 5 For pink icing, add strawberry juice. For yellow icing, mix in egg yolk, orange rind, and lemon juice.
