Vanilla Bean Pudding With Candied Fruit
Ingredients
- 1/2 liter milk
- 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
- Brown sugar to taste
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (maizena)
- Candied fruit for garnish
Method
- 1 In a saucepan, combine milk and vanilla bean. Heat until simmering, then remove from heat.
- 2 Whisk brown sugar and cornstarch into the warm milk until smooth.
- 3 Return to low heat and stir constantly until the mixture thickens slightly but remains pourable.
- 4 Remove from heat, discard vanilla bean, and pour into a serving dish to cool.
- 5 Garnish with candied fruit before serving.
