Vanilla Almond Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces butter
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond or rose extract
  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon boiling water (if needed)

Method

  1. 1 Wash salt from butter and beat until creamy.
  2. 2 Add egg white and beat until the mixture fluffs up.
  3. 3 Mix in vanilla extract, almond or rose extract, and powdered sugar.
  4. 4 Beat thoroughly to blend; add boiling water if the icing is too thick.
  5. 5 Spread between cake layers or use to ice the cake.
  6. 6 Optional: Cover with chopped nuts or toasted coconut.
