Vanilla Almond Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients
- 2 ounces butter
- 1 egg white
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond or rose extract
- 1 pound powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon boiling water (if needed)
Method
- 1 Wash salt from butter and beat until creamy.
- 2 Add egg white and beat until the mixture fluffs up.
- 3 Mix in vanilla extract, almond or rose extract, and powdered sugar.
- 4 Beat thoroughly to blend; add boiling water if the icing is too thick.
- 5 Spread between cake layers or use to ice the cake.
- 6 Optional: Cover with chopped nuts or toasted coconut.
