Two Egg Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 4 tablespoons water
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- pinch salt
- 2 egg whites
Method
- 1 Place ¾ cup sugar and 2 egg yolks in a mixing bowl and cream well.
- 2 Add 4 tablespoons water, 1 cup flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Beat to mix.
- 3 Cut and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
- 4 Pour into a well-greased and floured cake pan.
- 5 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 35 minutes.
