Turmeric Pickled White Onions

Ingredients

  • white onions
  • salt
  • water
  • plain cold vinegar
  • turmeric

Method

  1. 1 Trim the stems of the white onions close to the root.
  2. 2 Place onions in a pot and cover with boiling salted water.
  3. 3 Seal the pot tightly and let stand for 14 days, stirring daily.
  4. 4 Change the salt water every three days to prevent softening.
  5. 5 Peel off the skins and outer shells of the onions.
  6. 6 Submerge onions in plain cold vinegar with a little turmeric.
