Turmeric Pickled White Onions
Ingredients
- white onions
- salt
- water
- plain cold vinegar
- turmeric
Method
- 1 Trim the stems of the white onions close to the root.
- 2 Place onions in a pot and cover with boiling salted water.
- 3 Seal the pot tightly and let stand for 14 days, stirring daily.
- 4 Change the salt water every three days to prevent softening.
- 5 Peel off the skins and outer shells of the onions.
- 6 Submerge onions in plain cold vinegar with a little turmeric.
