Tuna Apple Salad Pitas
Ingredients
- 1 can (12 ounces) tuna, packed in water
- 2 tablespoons red onion, minced
- 1 medium apple, cored and chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup golden raisins
- 5 tablespoons light Italian dressing
- 2 cups salad greens
- 2 whole wheat pita breads, cut in half
Method
- 1 Wash hands with soap and water.
- 2 In a small bowl, stir together tuna, minced red onion, chopped apple, chopped celery, golden raisins, and 2 tablespoons of Italian dressing.
- 3 In another bowl, toss salad greens with the remaining Italian dressing.
- 4 Carefully open the pita breads and fill with equal amounts of the dressed salad greens and the tuna salad mixture.
