Tuna Apple Salad Pitas

Ingredients

  • 1 can (12 ounces) tuna, packed in water
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, minced
  • 1 medium apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 5 tablespoons light Italian dressing
  • 2 cups salad greens
  • 2 whole wheat pita breads, cut in half

Method

  1. 1 Wash hands with soap and water.
  2. 2 In a small bowl, stir together tuna, minced red onion, chopped apple, chopped celery, golden raisins, and 2 tablespoons of Italian dressing.
  3. 3 In another bowl, toss salad greens with the remaining Italian dressing.
  4. 4 Carefully open the pita breads and fill with equal amounts of the dressed salad greens and the tuna salad mixture.
