Treacle Gingerbread Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup treacle
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 2 tsp mixed spices
- 2 tbsp hot water
Method
- 1 Dissolve baking soda in hot water.
- 2 In a basin, rub butter into flour and dry ingredients.
- 3 Add soda solution and treacle; knead into a smooth paste.
- 4 Roll dough thin and cut into oblong shapes.
- 5 Bake for 15 minutes.
