Ingredients

  • 1 lb raisins
  • 1 lb apples
  • 1 lb currants
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1/2 lb blanched almonds, chopped
  • 1/2 lb moist sugar
  • juice of 4 lemons
  • 1/2 lb mixed peel

Method

  1. 1 Wash and pick the currants, then wash and stone the raisins.
  2. 2 Peel, core, and quarter the apples; cut up the mixed peel.
  3. 3 Mince all the fruit and peel together, then add the chopped almonds.
  4. 4 Melt the butter and mix it thoroughly with the fruit mixture.
  5. 5 Fill the mixture into one or more jars, cover with paper, and tie down tightly.
